the suspects could have been linked to an armed robbery in san jose. here's the intersection where the drive-by shooting happened and police were led on a wild chase through three east bay cities late last night. our cameras caught the chase north through 880. police tried to pull the driver other in hayward for dui and reckless driving. but he sped off through san leandro and oakland. the car spun out of control between 580 between harrison and park and police cars slammed into it to box the car in. officers say people were throwing things out on the roadway. they never found the objects but officers did find weapons inside the vehicle when it finally stopped. >> they pursued the vehicle in oakland where it crossed across the center median. the three occupants were taken into custody from there. >> reporter: police believe those three could be tied to a shooting in hayward early yesterday afternoon. a man was driving with his wife and child at tennyson and kalaroga when he was struck by a bullet and taken to the hospital. he's expected to survive. a hayward police officer tweeted around mid

and vandalism. >>> 7:05. san jose police have released photos of a man and a woman suspected of violently stealing another woman's purse. ktvu channel 2 reporter janine de la vega joins us from the scene of the crime. so janine, are people in the area concerned about their safety? >> reporter: they definitely are. you know, we're here near the ray street light rail station. most of the people i spoke to said they hadn't heard about this attack but this happened in the buena vista neighborhood in the 500 block of race street. we're told by people that this area is considered safe. but police are hoping that you can help them track down the two suspects they say are responsible. they say this young woman and a young man in their early 20s were working as a team when they targeted a woman who was riding the light rail on february 6th. just before 7:00 that night, the female victim got off at the race street light rail station. police say the female suspect followed her, punched her and then kicked her until she fell to the ground and tried to take her pu

taylor and that's because a city of san jose street sweeper somehow crashed foot that power pole and you can see it is completely down and it's extremely dark out here, traffic lights are out as well as street lights are out. now police and firefighters are called here at 5:00 this morning, sparks were flying because the power pole was down and police are interviewing and determining what caused him to hit the pole as a precaution and police have shut down northbound coleman lanes before pg&e shut off the electricity. electricity has been knocked down to 577 customers in the area and we spoke with a sergeant who tells us what his immediate worry was. >> is a sergeant you were supposed to hear from tells us they were concerned about people in this area initially because live wires were down and they thought a fire was going to happen, firefighters were called here but they left, but i think we have that tape to hear what the sergeant said. >> our first concern because of the live wires and the dangers involved with that we have taken precautionary measures to prevent any further injuries

was arrested on campus today for bomb threats made at the school yesterday and today administrators in san jose's east side union high school district are trying to explain how a registered sex offender managed to ride a school bus with high school students. kron 4's dan kerman is here with the story. and what's being done about it. >> reporter: it began with a group of high school students going on a school sponsored field trip to de anza college. these were freshmen. anyway, after the tour the students boarded the bus to head back, but at the time, a staff member spotted a volunteer parent who had no ride. this parent is wheelchair bound and was with another person who was helping her. the staff member let both aboard the bus. well now it turns out that the person helping the wheel chair bound parent is a registered sex offender. school administrators say the staff member violated policy by letting the two on board. that said, school officials say the sex offender had no contact with students >> at no time, based on the preliminary investigation did this person have any interaction with stude

us. i'm jessica aguirre. >> i'm raj mathai. we want to begin was breaking fuss in san jose. police are investigating a homicide at a senior center, but there's a twist here. this man has been missing for a few weeks till now. the man was found stabbed to death at the hilton manor senior apartments on ironwood drive near the church on the hill near highway 87. george kitayama is on scene. what are investigators is telling you at this hour? >> reporter: the man's name is stanley jacobson. he was reported missing back in mid-february. here's a picture. apparently his family found him inside his apartment this morning, san jose police officers have arrest aid suspect. at this point they are not saying who this suspect is and what their connection may be. back in mid-february, police were looking for a woman named regina butler. slae not saying whether she's the suspect. we did talk to his neighbor and friend just a short time ago. >> totally shocked. we've been looking everywhere for him for the last three to four weeks. and he wasn't at lunch because we always you know, meet together

involved shooting. now we know it's tied to a homicide in san jose. he was driving this white honda that was toed toed from the scene. we reported last night the sheriff department said police officers tried to stop men in the white honda. it crashed into several parked cars when they tried to escape. a neighbor said this is what he saw. >> several undercover police chasing him on foot running along behind the car yelling at him to stop. then all of a sudden i heard about three shots, three or four shots and then the car veered to the right and hit another suv. >> reporter: we learned the officers did not just happen to see the stolen vehicle but had the driver under surveillance because he's in connection with a homicide in san jose. that case is the reason investigators have not released the name of the man shot last night. a woman who said she is a sister of that guy only wanted to comment on the family's sadness and anger. >> the cops didn't have to kill him. they didn't have to shoot him and kill h
